Star Wars: Shatterpoint unboxing livestream
Star Wars: Shatterpoint is the newest miniature game created by Atomic Mass Games. This is not their first miniature game as they also created the games:
- Star Wars: Legion
- Star Wars: X-Wing
- Star Wars: Armada
- Marvel Crisis Protocol
Star Wars: Shatterpoint is expected to arrive to retail in summer 2023, but currently there isn't a lot of information about the game yet. That is until today (January 24st). Atomic Mass Games has announced a livestream where they will be unboxing the game live. We are not quite sure what other information will be made available, but this will give us a first good look at the contents of the core box.
On this page, I'll be posting all the information about the stream for people that missed the stream or want to see if they missed any information.
The core box will consist of 16 miniatures. This will allow you to make 4 squads (2 bad guy squads and 2 good guy squads).
You are able to mix good and bad guys within your team. More information about the team/squad rules will follow in another article.
The characters that are in the core box are:
- Gar Saxon
- Lord Maul
- Asajj Ventress
- 2x B1 Battle Droids
- 2x Mandalorian Super Commandos
- CC-7567 Captain Rex
- Anakin Skywalker
- Bo-Katan Kryze
- Ahsoka Tano
- 2x 501st Clone Troopers
- 2x Clan Kryze Mandalorians
Within the box, you'll also find a lot of terrain. The game will be focused a lot on elevation, so multiple ladders are present in the box to help your characters move through the terrain.
We also saw tokens, though we are not sure what they all do. There were health and force tokens mentioned in the stream.
The dices seem to be like the dice found in Marvel Crisis Protocol (attack and defense dice), though we don't exactly know what their faces will do yet.
They also showed off the victory condition. It is called a struggle tracker where you'll track your points from 0 to 8 in both ways. How exactly this will work is unclear, but it seems to be connected to missions while playing.
Movement and range tools were shown, both almost looking the same as the ones in Marvel Crisis Protocol.
We also got a peek at one of the drone character cards, but unclear if this side describes the whole character or if it is simply a simpler back of the card.
The price for the core set will be 164,99 USD and preorders will open on January 30th. There will also be other items available for preordering like expansions and terrain.
The first expansion is also shown off: Hello There Squad Pack. This pack includes Kenobi, Clone Command Cody, and 2 Clone troopers.
This is one of the two expansions that will be available for preorder.
Every expansion has a playable squad that you can add to your team. You can also mix and match characters in that squad with other squads.
The price of the expansion is 49,99 USD.
