All Skytear Expansions
Welcome!
Skytear is a board game inspired by the MOBA genre. In it, you try to defend your towers and nexus in a 4vs4 miniature battle. Throughout the game, you'll fight other players, support your lanes, and move your minions toward the enemy towers. That is, in big lines, how you play Skytear.
The main customizability of this game comes through the various miniatures that you can choose along with their cards to build your deck. If you want to stay competitive in this game, you'll want to keep a look at the expansions that are being released. To make it easy for you, I've listed a list of expansions below so that you can easily see what you are still missing.
Now, let's get started with the list of expansions:
Kurumo Expansion
The Kurumo Expansion is one of the first faction expansions after the core game had been released. As the name would suggest, it expands upon the Kurumo faction found in the core game. Included in this expansion are:
- 4 Hero Miniatures (Akimo, Kichie, Hogosai, and Miyuki)
- 4 Minion Miniatures
- 4 Hero Cards
- 32 Power Cards
Liothan Expansion
The Liothan Expansion is one of the first faction expansions. It is similar to the other faction-specific expansions and focuses on the Liothan faction. You can find the following content in this expansion:
- 4 Hero Miniatures (Astryda, Freyhel, Brylvar, and Shyllavi)
- 4 Minion Miniatures
- 4 Hero Cards
- 32 Power Cards
Taulot Expansion
The Taulot Expansion is one of the first faction expansions. It is similar to the other faction-specific expansions and focuses on the Taulot faction. You can find the following content in this expansion:
- 4 Hero Miniatures (Achla, Zacoal, Ixatosk, and Nelaclen)
- 4 Minion Miniatures
- 4 Hero Cards
- 32 Power Cards
Nupten Expansion
The Nupten Expansion is the last of the faction-specific expansions. This expansion focuses on the Nupten faction (such a surprise). You can find the following content in this expansion:
- 4 Hero Miniatures (Ekhrit, Khenui, Setheru, and Shafathi)
- 4 Minion Miniatures
- 4 Hero Cards
- 32 Power Cards
Outsiders Expansion
This expansion expands the game with new outsiders. The core box will only come with one outsider, but this expansion will expand on that with 4 new outsiders. This means that you will also pick an outsider for your deck when playing against other players. The first player to trigger an outsider will place their outsider there for the rest of the game.
The content of this expansion is:
- 4 Outsider Miniatures
- 4 Outsider Cards
- 48 Power Cards
Into Ashes
If you like Skytear because of the deck building, then this expansion is for you. This expansion only consists of cards. 30 power cards, 1 victory, and one ultimate card. Each faction will come with around 6 new cards and there will also be some gray cards in there.
Ashen Pass
Ashen Pass adds a whole new map to the Skytear game. This map only consists of one lane but has two domes for outsiders. If you are planning on getting this map, make sure to also get the Outsiders Expansion to really get the most out of this map.
Stormsear Expansion
Stormsear is an expansion that adds two new heroes to Skytear. These heroes are bound to two factions (Nupten & Kurumo). This will make it easier to make a team of heroes with both those factions in there. The expansion has the following contents:
- 2 Hero Miniatures
- 2 Minion Miniatures
- 2 Hero Cards
- 3 Hero HP Token
- 32 Power Cards
- 1 Void Palace Card
Winterdeep Expansion
The Winterdeep Expansion is almost the same as the Stormsear expansion. It consists of two heroes who both worship two factions (Liothan & Taulot). This makes it easier to combine those two factions in your team. The expansion has the following contents:
- 2 Hero Miniatures
- 2 Minion Miniatures
- 2 Hero Cards
- 2 Hero HP Token
- 32 Power Cards
The Breach Expansion
This expansion is, like Into Ashes, an expansion that mostly adds new power cards. With this expansion, you'll get a total of 60 new power cards and 4 new victory cards.
Silent Ambassador
The Silent Ambassador is a new outsider that you are able to add to your Skytear team. The description of this outsider is as follows:
Silent Ambassadors are attracted by sorrow and violence, these creatures haunt the battlefields in search of victims to wreak their deadly needs against, often assuming humanoid features by using the debris around them in a grotesque caricature of the ones who created them.
Unforgotten Expansion
This expansion is another dual-faction expansion like Stormsear and Winterdeep. This time it contains two heroes with the factions Kurumo and Taulot. The expansion consists of the following items:
- 2 Hero Miniatures
- 2 Minion Miniatures
- 2 Hero Cards
- 2 Hero HP Token
- 32 Power Cards
Embassy Ruins
This expansion adds a new map to the game. This map is focused on a 4vs4 battle on a 3-lane map.
Untamed Expansion
The Untamed expansion is the last of the four dual-faction expansions that came out in the dual-faction cycle. This expansion consists of two heroes who both follow Nupten and Liothan as factions. Along with that, this expansion consists of:
- 2 Hero Miniatures
- 2 Minion Miniatures
- 2 Hero Cards
- 2 Hero HP Token
- 32 Power Cards
Skytear expansions in 2023
While there are already a lot of expansions, there is still a lot of room to explore in Skytear. 2023 will however not be the year for that. The Skytear team has already said that there will be no expansions in 2023 for Skytear. Most likely they will be developing new expansions or they are busy spending more time on their newest game: Skytear Horde.
And those are all the expansions for Skytear. I hope this will help you with your choice of your next expansion. And I'll keep updating this list of expansions with any new ones that will come our way. Happy playing!
